Fan shouldn't car which way it's hooked up. It will spin either way. How exactly do you have it wired - fuse, relay, anything?

Try resetting your ECU (disconnect the battery again for a few minutes).
Run it and see what codes you get and then post them.
Might be that you fried the ecu =(

Usually when you do this the power surge follows the largest power lines. Which general means alternator, starter, ignition. Don't know what your codes relate to but it sounds like you may have fried the ECU. You'd probably be able to get one for cheap from a junk yard though.

ooook. i just drove up to the gas station.. car kinda hesitaded on the way, filled up the tank and put in some fuel system cleaner, then on the way home, the car died. it started right back up, then i got to the speed bumps and it was idling really low and backfiring. i basically coasted home at 3 mph, then i heard a terrible screeching from what sounded like the front, and thats alllll she wrote. i had to push it home. now it wont start

any ideas?

All that from a backwards battery.
Simply amazing!
I hooked up backwards ONCE and just blew the BIG fuse. Nothing other than that.

you think a bad fuel pump could be the culprit?
