Brake line pliers for pinching the brake line
I was flipping through a tool catalog and noticed these hose pinch pliers:

Is it possible to use these and not have to bleed the brakes? Would these cause damage to the brake lines externally or internally?
TIA

i have a few of these in my shop, they are awesome. only thing that i have noticed is that u still have to bleed the brakes a little SOMETIMES. i have caliper swaps and not had to, then i had to sometimes. I like them because it saves a huge mess of fluids on the ground, you can also use em on coolant lines, fuel lines etc.
The finger of a latex glove and a zip tie works exactly the same. I've used these two high tech devices for dozens of caliper swaps with no issue whatsoever.
Sweet! Thanks for the comments!
So JDMHN8, do you just wrap the latex around the brake line first, then put the ziptie around that?

Yep. Snip a finger of the glove, put it over the line, secure with a zip tie about .25" up from the union fitting.
You'll spill a few drops of fluid before you secure the finger, but it will not leak at all once the finger is secured. It'll just fill with fluid and balloon out slightly.

Cool thanks!
Any info as to whether or not these methods cause any damage to the brake line either short term or long term?
