it's possible that it isn't the hoses, and it's the temperature selector cords.

the only one i have hooked up is for the hot/cold selector.the selector that goes under the hood on the heater core hose broke so i took it out and it runs threw all the time now, would that make a difference?also the one on the pass side for fresh air and the one for the foot/defrost/front vents is unhooked.

there should be a total of four wire connections, two on the hot/cold selector, one for fresh air or recirculation, and then another to select head/feet etc. The two from the hot cold selector need to be hooked up. As both of them control the temp. If you have the hose one bypassed then you are allowing the hot water of the motor into the heater core at all times, meaning that the other cable to allow that hot air into the cabin is broken or not connected.

well the hoses that go from the motor into the heater core are both open, the valve that used to be there broke so i just did away with it and ran it wide open so its flowing into the heater core.

ok on the thermo housing, does the hose from the heater core go to nipple closest to the pass side or the one closer to the driver's side?
