Jackson Racing Supercharger?
almost not worth it on an LS when the cost of one and the ecu and tune will pay for a type r engine which will make the same power and with fewer heat issues. your best bet on a used one is craigslist or ebay, new they are spendy
didn't jackson stop making them a few years ago? they were sold a while back and a lot of stuff got changed around. i wouldn't recommend a supercharger unless you get it really cheap; it's not going to make much power. if you're completely set on a supercharger then at least start with a b18c swap first.
turbocharging is a much better option, there are quite a few kits out there that allow you to retain a/c and near stock reliability. And turbos are easily adjustable for more power.

agreed. however, this is one of those debates that never gets settled; some people just want superchargers and some don't.
yea i was thinking about doing a s/c wen i built my ls vtec but thinkin about it s/c r good from low to mid power but i would want ore top end so turbo is the way to go but it all depends on what ur using it for
found one for you bud, search is key.

also I would agree that a turbo set up would yield more power far easier than a jrsc, but if you are worried about carb and smog the jrsc is a good FI option as it is 50 state legal.
i myself was running a JRSC for when they first came out and ran decent times 12.5 w/slick but i have recently changed over to turbo for more power.. jackson racing still make them supercharger.com. and theres also vortech
heat is also the problem with both this and a turbo. unless all you care about is drag racing any extended high rpm use will create serious heat problems which means cooling becomes priority #1. custom fabbed radiators and stand alone oil coolers are a very good idea. still, in the case of the op you would probably wind up around 175whp with a jackson on the b18b and moderate boost. you can do the same with a bone stock jdm itr, be in it similar money, have a lower mile motor and far fewer tuning or heat issues. if your goal is more than this power level then yes boost will do it but turbos have lag + heat and the SC has the heat issue, more so if you run the small pulley going after more boost. if you want to do this right plan the entire car out and its goal before you buy parts
for example, i have a 2600lb dc2 on koni/gc 500/450 rates, kumho xs tires, itr swap w lsd. real agile car for autocross. if i did any boost option the jackson would win hands down. why? turbo lag is a major problem in autocross, most turbos besides the expensive edelbrock or outdated greddy kit will not pass DEQ and the jackson serves the power level i would want to keep the car under control. it also has near instant boost which does work with the cones and it's emission friendly. furthermore it would keep me from having to upgrade the axles or much of anything else besides a hondata s100 for the tune.
if i was doing a drag car it's a no brainer, turbo, slicks, axles, boost = 11s and faster

ehh, i hate thoses superchargers, installed 3 of them... they make very little power, and on-top of that cause alot of oil leaks down the road... a ebay, or coustome turbo kit is a much better choice... cost less in the long run... just my 2cents...
id say, hit ebay buy a vtec head, arp rod bolts, arp head bolts, spend some monet at a machine shop mild port and polish, freshen up the head, new valves, springs, retainers, and a skunk street 1 set of cams... then tune the computer... enjoy.

Before you pick between a turbo setup and a JRSC, read the "Turbo vs Supercharger" thread linked in the Forced Induction FAQ. It may shed some light on the subject in ways you hadn't though about. I'm not going to tell you to go either way, but i can tell you that whatever a supercharger can do, a properly matched turbo setup can do better

Sadly, that's one of the only 2 reasons I could see wanting the JRSC. The other is install by a non-mechanically inclined person. The JRSC is essentially "bolt on", compared to needing to tap the oil pan for oil return line, possibly rerouting coolant lines, etc...
I mean, if you just want low end power and no boost lag, one could always get a very very cheap used K03 off of an Audi owner upgrading, and end up with a power curve similar to a JRSC and have the ability to run an intercooler.
