Default camber kit question

I KNOW I KNOW... i have read in more than one place "you dont need a camber kit" and "just have the shop set your camber to 0". but i am wondering, is there anything NEGATIVE about getting a camber kit? i would have to think that those ball joints would last longer than having ones that arent as adjustable.

should i get a kit or just replace my ball joints. i wanna know which will last longer.

A ball joint is a ball joint is a ball joint.... sure there are higher quality ones out there but an adjustable ball joint has nothing to do with how long it will last. Have you even looked at one of those ball joints? They have more moving parts and are MORE prone to break. If you want to do it right get some upper control arms that are adjustable. Like a set of Skunk2s or something along those lines.

Either way why do you NEED a camber kit? You didn't say your car is lowered or raised for that matter.

if your asking becuase of lowering.
My Rule is

If you lower more then 2 inches, then you NEED a camber kit otherwise your gonna have bitch alignment issues along with horrible handeling.

I would never lower a car more then 2 inches becuase its pointless unless your a full fledged race car.

all you need to do is have your toe set at 0 or oem spec. camber hardly wears your tires at all.
only lowering a car 2 inches, its totaly point less to get a camber kit, the camber wont be bad at all.

Your rule is useless. I'm at about 2" lowered, i have no issues with my alignment and the car handles great. oh and I've never had issues with camber wear.

back to the original question...If you want ball joints that will last, buy oem.

I said more then 2 inches.

typical honda ignorance

obviously that fluxuates depending on the OEM Spec Ride height. but 2 Inches is typical max for a car if you dont get a camber kit

that extra crap isn't needed. do you realize that the toe being out of adjustment is going to wear the tire a hell of a lot faster than a few degrees of negative camber?

whats the real problem? you have a bad balljoint?

fix the bad balljoint.

from what ive seen, the balljoints that come on skunk2 kits and similar crap out pretty quickly and dont match the quality of OEM.

You're correct, that statement IS typical honda ignorance.

Im guilty of it as well but i have tried several setups and with proper toe adjustment, you wont be eating tires in under a thousand miles.

OP, read this. end the ignorance.

okay guys. thanks for all the responses. i think what i will go with is just 2 new OEM balljoints. replace them, and then get it aligned if necessary.
