Default K20 Auto swap?

Hello,

Pretty soon I will have some extra money and I think its time for a swap in the old DD. My car is an ES1 auto. My question is would it be possible to do a k20 automatic swap from a base RSX? I know what you may be thinking, "Automatic K20, WTF?" Well not only do I drive the car 100+ miles to work everyday, but my wife also drives the car on occasion also, and she CAN'T drive a manual due to nerve damage in her left leg she suffered in an accident a few years ago.

So I figured this would be a happy medium for me, I get more power and the ease of the auto. The base k20 engine is a cheaper, which would free up more money to towards the other stuff I would want (hondata, etc).

Tell me what you think, what I would need, and anything relevent you have to say about this idea.

Peace

i looked into this for a bit, although it was for a k24 but i did look into k20a3's too before choosing to boost (gave a COMPELTE kit away).

Anywho, the wiring would be a NIGHTMARE. there is NO wiring harness for it at all so everything would have to be custom done. Not to mention the space issue in our engine bays. Have you seen K swapped engine bays? Theyre pretty cramped IMO (to each their own ) I think the biggest issue would be having the transmission mounts clear, which also have to be custom made.

If you had a way to fabricate an engine mount and you were savvy with electrical diagrams, you could do it. But, K-Pro is going to be out of the question, unless you have two ECU's (one manual transmission ECU for the K-Pro, and one automatic ECU just for your transmission's shift points). This solution would also require a ton of electrical knowledge.

^^ thats only for boosting. With just a auto swap, all you would require is an auto ECU. Why would you need one for a manual transmission and one auto one if youre swapping to an auto?

To further explain, only dual ecu's are needed for boosting an auto K because you need one to control boost and one to control shift points for the auto

The OP stated he wanted Hondata. Whether or not it's for boost is irrelevant, when considering an automatic transmission.
