Default OBD1 engine with OBD2 car

hey. will i be able to use an obd1 engine with an obd2 ecu, provided i get an obd2 wiring harness? for example, i have a 94 gsr, going into a 2000 civic dx. would i be able to replace the gsr harness (on the engine, obd1) with my stock dx harness (obd2), and then simply add the secondary wires, like vtec, knock, etc... and use all this with an obd2 ecu?? any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

all you want to do is get an obd 1 ecu and an obd 2 to obd 1 adaptor harness

your obd 2 engine harness should plug and play - the missing obd 2 stuff.

You'd have to get obd2 injectors and alternator and put a crank position sensor on the GSR motor. You will be able to use your DX harness and add the vtec wires and knock sensor wire... You'll also have to switch some stuff around on the ECU plugs and you'll need an obd2 B ecu, unless you plan on getting an adapter harness to run on obd1 ECU. If you go with an OBD1 ECU, the crank position sensor will not be needed. The CPS is not neccessary on the obd2 ecu, but without it you'll have a CEL.
