Icon6 No CEL at start up, and NO seat belt light

Hey guys in needed some help, I tried searching but no luck. I just bought a 99 gsr and I noticed after a few day of the purchase that the CEL does NOT flash when the key is in position II, Also the seat belt light does not come on. I needed some help on where to start, I wanted to check the fuse box, and bulb. Anyone came across this problem?

Rob

b.t.w. I havent been here in a while. I used to come here when I boosted my 00 ls.

Thanks for the support!

I will start with the bulb.If it was a fuse chip the whole cluster wouldn't be working I don't think or at least all the lights.Just pull the cluster out and switch the light bulbs around to see if its blown.Doesn't take much time maybe like 5 min to do.The light bulb that lights up the check engine light, brake light, oil light, seat beat light, high beam light, etc should be all the same size.Just take a working bulb and switch it with the check engine light and seat belt light bulb and turn on the key to see if it lights up.

Hey thanks for the insight..I tried the bulb....the bulb was the problem for the CEL but the seat belt light still does not come on...Is there a spot under the seat where it engages the light? or how about the steering wheel, it has been replaced with a MOMO steering wheel?

Another things.....the SRS light is on always because the steering wheel has no airbag...is there a fix for this?

Thanks again

Rob

Check under your driver seat and make sure the wire from your seatbelt (controls the light) hasn't been altered

x2. the previous owner might've unplugged the seatbelt to kill the light, just gotta plug it back in if that's the case.

for the steering wheel, you can stick a resistor in the airbag plug to make the srs computer think that the airbag's there. i don't remember what resistor to use though.

As for the SRS light, take the bulb out. Thats simple and free.
