tranny confusion
my 98accord f23A1 need a tranny replacement.
i was told in a forum that i could use the tranny from 98-02 ex/dx/lx to replace my tranny.
is this correct?
now someone told me that there will be a problem because im going to replace it with a non v tranny F23A4.
what are the mods i need to do?
pls help, i already have the tranny got it for $500!!!!!

i don't know alot about trannys but as long as all the sensors are the same there should be no problem ... in the worst case scenario swap the sensors from your original tranny to your new tranny ... by the way f23a4 is a vtec motor ... the f23a5 is the "non v"
all of the f23 transmissions and motors (a1/a4/a5, etc.) along with the h22/23 transmissions and motors are interchangeable. There is no worries about what transmission you get.
Just make sure, (in your case) its an f23 transmission. Vtec does not play any part in what transmission use, it is simply in the head.
This should be covered in the FAQ if you look, not positive though.
I'm almost positive the f22 transmission bolt up too with little or no modification (not 100% sure on that though)
Hope that helps. good luck.

^^^ ya what he said.. and to add some what of clarity u cant run a F22 transmission cause of the TCU solenoid are different and would give u shifting problems from what ive read.
Didn't think the f22 tranny bolted up, that sounds right about the TCU solenoid. Just thought i'd throw it out there anyway.
Thanks for the clarification evil.
