Default Guys, i need your help badly, i was in a accident....

Going home last night, and i was making a left turn. It was on a curve, so it was a blind turn with a green light. As i was going through it, a 90-93 f-150 came and was going about 50 mph, the posted limit. I was almost all the way through when I saw, it hit my back end. right above my rear passenger side tire. It completly crushed it in, and now i cant close my trunk at all, also, on the oppisite side, the drivers side, rear, has a dent pushing outward, so im guessing something inside completely shifted to the drivers side. My back window blew out into a billion pieces. Passenger side lights smashed. Bumper fell of completely, actually in somewhat good condition at least.

From what I can tell this must be my fault since we both have green and I yeilded for a very short time.

His car had NO scratches, all it had was a broken passenger side light, and he cant open his passenger door, im guessing the metal framing pushed inward so that the door cant hinge. Does anyone have a clue on how much that might be to repair?

Now for my car, I desperatly need someone to fix my body. Does anyone know any good body shops with low prices in/around the San Ferando Valley, Burbank, Simi Valley, Valencia, Santa Clarita. Anywhere around that area.

Please guys i need your help.

Not feeling that great,
Jon

well that dent isnt that big, i would say about 3 cm outa the usual, i also noticed when i was driving it home, that when i was on a swurvey road, i felt something pushing against that side, im guessing something to do with the tires.

first of all: never admit anything! Say as little as possible, don't talk to him, don't talk to his family, don't talk to his lawyer or insurance company. I hope you have (good) liability insurance for your sake. Let your insurance company deal with him/lawyer/blahblahblah if he decides to pursue it via insurance/law. Anything you say can incriminate yourself.

When dealing with body shops, there usually isnt a cheaper place than anywhere else per se. Your best bet is shop around.

Its hard to guess without seeing it. Maybe $1000-$2000 if there is frame damage that needs to be straightened.

well my rear window would go for about almost 1,000 on its own, plus the body work, no paint, just the body work, my car did a 360 degree turn and the passenger side of my car was in the air, i seriusly thought i was gonna die, im still shaking.

call around to junkyards. Sun Valley and San Fernando Valley is just down the road from you. Get a yellowpages and look under "automotive wrecking". If there isn't any metal bent around the backwindow, I would guess it wouldn't be more than 200 installed (at one of the little places)...to be continued

how can you both have green? and if i owned the car that wasn't damaged that much, and i was the one that hit another car, i wouldn't want to go through the insurance either.

it's probably his fault, and he's trying to con you and get out of fault (ie: no points on his license, no insurance rate increase, won't get in trouble with parents if they don't see any damage on the vehicle, etc). and if somehow both of you had green at the same time, either the city is in trouble, or the other guy (since your rear was hit and he hit you with his front end)

From the description of the damage to your car it sounds pretty bad. If you got hit on one side and it had an impact hard enough to make a dent on the opposite side of the car and blow out your rear windscreen then I would have to say even without looking at it that the car is a write off as the chasis will be twisted!!!!

I would be thinking hard about who is actually at fault cause he might be!!!!!!

you should have gotten a police report at least. Whoever is not at fault is a dumbass for not wanting insurance companies involved.

as for the car: **** sound's fucked.

Unless you were turning left on an arrow (which you didnt say) its pretty much your fault. I dont know much about estimating but I can say that its your fault. Some RTD truck backed out of a spot while I was waiting for my g/f at the bus stop and clipped my front end. No dents, but a broken left headlight, corner light, and grille. Little paint here and there but estimate came to $1360. I paid for the JDM style headlights for $275 and took the rest, but I didnt expect it to be more than $600. Good luck to you and sorry for the mishap.

yeah, it is my fault, we both had a green light meaning that on that left i should uve yeilded longer. No arrow. i looked at the back window, it seems like that whole part kinda shifted to the left, its hard to tell but there is that black, i gues weather stripping, and you can tell how it shifted, about a good half inch. I dont udnerstand the dents on the opp side, like some of those dents are in, and some out. So who knows, it looks like the whell is kinda popping out, i mean i drove it home and i felt a little hard to control, nothing to big, so im guessing a alignment.

Also i cant open the passenger side doors, and it looks like the rear passenger side door is almost about to fall off.

heh, How much do you still think its gonna be? 3k?

Unfortunately that sounds way more than 3grand. Your car is pretty f'ed up. *sigh*, I know....it sucks. You CAN still drive it right now (for no money) by putting a clear plastic sheeting on the back window area and duct-taping it down really-really good (likewise for any side windows). Put red duct-tap over the cracked tail lenses. And when your on the freeway...seriously...keep you speed reasonable...esp if you have an f'ed up rear suspension. Keep all your crap in the trunk too (that is, if you can open it). Unfortunately, it will start raining in a month or two....

well, im starting to look at it in a different light a bit, what happened, i guess the whole rear passenger side moved up a bit, which made that rear passenger side door kinda fold ontop of the other one, so with alot of pressure i was able to fix that, at least.... i can open my f - passenger side door with no problem. I picked up my break lights, they flew off, they both work, so i reconected them and those are fine.

Im gonna have a From Mexico body shop guy look at it, i trust these people cuz ive always delt with mexican guys, I am part, mexican ,part india indian, so i grasped my mothers mexican side and screwed my dads part(that bastard). So this guy works at a body shop, but does work on the side, his boss lets him do his thing at that body shop, so hopefully he can give me a good price on the damage.

Also, im noticing something wierd, The oppisite side where i was hit, isnt dented outward, its dented inward, i dont understand, the only thing i can think of is, that when i made that 360 degree rotation the pressure of the tire mustuve done it, well who knows how this is gonna turn out....

Well the Passenger side of the trunk is about 1/8 inward into the trunk, and the hood shifted over, so i cant close it all....

Im starting to think its not that bad, i mean, it looks horrible, and im really afraid of driving right now, stupid phobeas, but i think that the window is probably gonna be a well over 400, and the body itself i cant tell, i dont think there is TOO MUCH frame damage. and the rest is just metal punched into my trunk.

The way the guy hit me, he just barely, by link half a centimeter, missed my tire, which is why i spunout so badly...

comments welcome guys....

do you have any pics? maybe that would help everyone...but to me it sounds like even if you did get everything "repaired," there would always be some sort of damage because it sounds like since your having so much trouble driving it that the frame got really screwed up

well this guy came over, he said that the guy must have really wanted to hit me witha passion, but it is repairable, he told me that where he works he has this machine that holds on the back of the car and slowly moves it back into alignment and since his boss lets him do his little workings on the side, he wouldnt charge me much, i think the driving came from the wheels, i think they are missaligned, or a control arm is messed up. So, he told me he would check for a bumber, a rear panel or something like that, the whole part starting above the tire back, the corner of my light, the rear window, and some misc things, so i dont really know how much those parts run for, but so far, from what it sounds, in my head im guessing beetween 1,500 - 2000 for repairs, let me know what you guys think....
