Base Ignition Timing???

Default Base Ignition Timing???

What do you guys have your base ignition timing set on your distributor??? Should i leave it at stock 16btc or retard it?

leave it stock, 16* and get it tuned

It is street tuned. Right now i have it at 14* but i wasnt sure if i should advance it back to 16* or leave it how it is??

leave it where it was when it was tuned, whoever tuned it should of confirmed 16deg base before he tuned it

you could put it back to 16 and gain some power, but read your plugs and check your wide band regularly

I've always wanted to know how much the distributor angle affects injector phasing and how much that relates to power.

Just something to think about. I wish some of the more knowledgeable-with-OEM-parts guys would chime in here (blundar, J. Davis).

Well, it was street tuned and my tuner used a handheld wideband. I dont have one. I had the ignition on 14* at the time and i was just curious if i could advance back to stock 16* in hopes of a little better gasmileage and better throttle response. I have been checking my plugs reguarly and they seem ok, not bleached white and not dark either.

I would just leave it where it was tuned at. Just curious because Im kinda close to you, Who does your tuning or the business? I tune crome but am wanting someone to do something with an aem or hondata
