alrite, you guys on here helped me fix my civic tonite by giving me advice, so im gonna give this another try. i found a 93 del sol on my local craigslist a year ago for very cheap. it has zero mods but came with a short shifter which needs put on. the car runs around ok, shifts good, but blows white smoke.......many people told me this is a head gasket problem......is that hard to fix on one of these cars.......ive driven the car around for 20-45 minutes at a time on 20+ occasions and it has ran fine but comes home with the antifreeze bubbling. im having trouble finding someone to come fix it locally but id like to learn how to do it................but you cant get experience if noone gives it to you. my friend i work with saidthey would give me $600 for it.....but id like to fix it and drive it all next summer
any help or suggestions?

 

okay well your thermostat might be the reason you antifreeze is bubbling and you will probly have to replace the piston rings(white smoke) but honestly i would just get a swap because youll be putting money into a worthless motor. unless its a vtec model. youll save money if you just get a whole swap. a full ls swap runs from 400 to 500 if you look in the right places. hope this helps!

 

thats what alot of people were telling me to do was swap out the motor.....but i cant find anyone to do that either......or how can you tell what motors will fit in with major mods? and wont i need 2 make sure i get the computer and harness with the new motor? i found another nice del sol for sale with a good motor and many mods but someone else bought it for $400.....

 

swaps arent as hard as they seem. you might be able to get another d15(the motor you have) for like 150. and you can just do that. cause replacing piston rings is gonna run you like 300-400 dollars

thats what im trying to do is find someone local or maybe find another motor........but i dont wanna get some motor that was left in the back of a garage for 10 yearsand was beat on in the first place and spend alllll this time putting it in, hoping its done right, then starting the car up to have multiple problems.........(i am used to expecting the worst).......
