windows on an 97 accord dx
well I took my door panel off. In order to spray some, lubricant on the metal bar, or whatever the glass slides up and down. I did this thinking it would help cranking my window since it cranks hard. Any help out thier to slove this?
Yes, I believe what you want is lithium grease, if you do a search you'll find it, there's two lubricants and I can't remember the second, might be a silicone based one. Use that for the rails.
The other thing you'll want to do is use Shinentzu grease (go to Honda and ask them for it they'll know what you're talking about haha) and use that to go all over and inside the rubber seals of the window, those have built up gunk in them that slow them down.
*edit* It's Shin-Etsu Grease

I think I paid like $7 for the tube the size of a toothpaste tube. Use that for the rubber, I think it's the lithium grease you want for the rails, but do a search. I know the Shin-Etsu is for the rubber (I use it on my S's convertible top seals)

I used Radio Shack Lube Gel (with teflon) on my window tracks and it seemed to work good. I also used Armor all as a temporary fix and it worked great.
I would say use the stuff Honda sells as a permanent fix.
