Default Bored on a Sunday

Did alittle DIY today just to see how it would turn out.

The chrome finisher on the OEM exhaust that has the flush internal shield, I moved it inwards. With a rubber mallet, broke the two spot welds on the at the bottom of the plate. Now I have two small drain holes along with the factory hole. Oh well, . Now there is a three leg centering mount in the back of the finisher. I had to fold three spots of the internal shield to slide over the three legs and sit flush with the leg where they are spot welded. Once flush, drilled and put a screw to hold it in place. Then taped and painted the inside with bar-b-que high temp paint. Measured back the amount the new shield placment had moved and cut the tail pipe from the tap used to bolt the finisher on with.

Nothing fancy but to me made the exhaust look alittle better.

Nice job man. Subtle difference, but it does look better. Maybe make a more technical step by step DIY for those who might be interested in this?

Sorry, I'm not much on explanations. I just cut and try. Here are some more shots. Yes the paint did bubble on me. Planning on replacing the exhaust later anyway.

Should have let the paint dry before you started the car.
