9sec +135mph with 6pt Cage Question
I'd like to hear from the guys that have a 6pt cage and run 9s or over 135mph. Do the track officials give you a hard time to get a full cage in the car?
Basically I have a full cage and thinking about going back to a 6pt since I spent more time on the street than on the track. I'm worried if I do that and go over 135mph that I would be kicked off the track.
Can anyone offer any advice please?
Thanks,
Anthony

chances are the 6pt is only a bar. not a full cage as you need the other 2 points for the roof hoop.
i know my local track is actually starting to enforce the 135 rule. lic and cage. if it is already caged, and cert'd keep it that way. that way you wont get hassled.

10.00-11.49 = 6pt cage min.
8.50-9.99 = 10pt cage
11.49-faster = battery cut-off
135+ = window net required
150+ = parachute
If that helps you out Anthony

Thanks for the responses guys. I built my car properly and have the window net, license etc but I think my original question may be confusing so I'll ask it this way:
For guys that have a 6pt setup and have gone faster than a 10.0 or 135mph, has the track guys given you a hard time to upgrade to a full 10pt cage?
Thanks!!!

E-town used to let you run 10.0 or 150 with a 6pt until the begining of last year (2008). After that they started to enforce the 10.0 or 135mph rule. They'll give you a warning the first time us go faster than 135 or 10.0. If you continue to go faster, they wont let you run again.

yes i have been in that boat in the past. & know many who have as well.
it basically depends on the track personnel & how hard they are on the rules.
its a gamble every time. u get by 1 time but not the other. aint worth it
i can tell u from experience thiers no point in doing a 6 if u know your gunna pass its limits. nothing more of a pain in the *** than taking a car apart to add after its been painted ect..
