Anyone ever used this paint? I'm thinking about using it on my 96 hatch. It DESPERATELY needs a paint job and I think now is the time. My dad has painting experience and a self contained HVLP unit we would be using. I was going to buy the paint, primer, activater, thinner, all that crap from Summit. Was wondering if there is anything special I should know about Acrylic Urethane? Special prep steps? Anything like that. The primer we would be using is Urethane Primer Surfacer.. The car will be stripped to the metal on the roof only, I will be shooting over OEM paint on the rest of the car.

Yeah. I am going to be doing this paint job next year, April when it warms up. Going to use the bright white from summit and epoxy primer. I think I can get some very nice results. I'll post pics when it all goes down. Going to pull the engine, interior and side glass to get a good job also.

 

hmmm think of acrylic as nail polish. i have seen a couple friends cars sprayed with it. it shines nice but doesnt last super long. when i say super long i mean 2 to 4 years if its a single stage.

 

Try the duplicolor stuff at O'Reilly's cheaper and it works pretty well I an using it to paint my hatch right now
