1990 CRX HF.
Non-original headlights, look like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91...Q5fAccessories
The beams are aimed too low, I ran out of adjustment bringing them up.
I am looking to replace the headlights and want to know what my options are. Go stock and put in SilverStars? $100 HID kits on Craigslist? What's good? What's bad?
Drove stock CRX lights on another CRX and they were better than my (apparently crappy) projectors... but I don't even know what bulbs are in there, they take the same as OEM. Should I get the SilverStars and see how they perform? Can I just shim the headlights to get more adjustment?

Usually the ebay projectors are junk. I had some on my EG and the only way I could see at night was to turn my brights on. Mine didnt have adjustment, so I'm not sure if your does either.
there should still be a lot of play in the bolting down of the headlight to adjust them up a bit more if you havent tried already. take the front bumper/support off and try to readjust that way first.
as crappy as those headlights look, they might actually be a good candidate for a HID kit. theres a cool thread where a HT user used GSR projectors and an HID kit to get a really good beam pattern. depending on that thats constructed, it might not need GSR projectors and you can just mod a HID kit to fit in.

O E M trust me like stated projectors are junk i spent wasted time taling perfectly good stock ones out then finding oem ones to replace them w cause i threw my good ones away...stupid stupid ....password jdm sells clear jdm lights w bulbs and stuff pretty reasonable or junkyard
stock headlights with HID conversion. i did mine, 8000k xenon bulbs, work AWESOME. they look stock until you light them up!

You can find your OEM headlights in junkyard, HT marketplace, and craigslist.
Just be patient and search around.
In the future if you want to put HIDs you can retrofit them if you want, good luck.

Looks like I'll keep an eye out. Are Sedan/HB/CRX lights of similar vintage all the same?
OEM is the way.
I did see a few threads a while before I joined about using the EBAY headlight lense on the OEM headlights. The guy retrofitted HID's off a TSX (I think) and the beam was SUPER clean. I will try to find it if I can.
