Default Never really considered the EP3, until randomly now...

Looking for a DD. Something fun and beautiful, not a 1991 civic, even my DD's have standards.

I was mainly looking for 99-00 Honda Civic Si's. I knew of the EP3, but never really considered it. To be honest, I've always thought they were fugly. Now as I keep seeing 1000's of ads on craigslist of the EP3 and how much they are going for, I am seriously starting to consider it. As for the look, well its growing on me.

I guess my question is, how much do you love your EP3? Ofcourse look is subjective, but would you rather have a 99-00 Civic Si? Anything I should know about the car/motor?

Looking to buy my DD ASAP, so all answers appreciated. Thanks guys.

I love my car. I went through so many different cars that I considered buying and the ep was just something that just kept going back to. Through the goods and bads, I'm happy with my car.

Well, I would take a 99-00 EM1 over the EP3 or a DC5 any day. The EM1 is just beautifully built.

perfect for daily driver, just know that you are not getting a fast car. Since now one really wants them, they sell pretty cheap on craigslist.

I've enjoyed my ep, but after only 2 years, I'm ready to move on.

its not a fast car but its quick... the EP is a very fun car to drive! The experience behind the wheel is what makes the car so great!

The EP3 also has the added advantage of being ready to drop in a K20A using the existing mounts.

Love the EP for a daily driver. Has TONS of capacity in the hatch, you'd be amazed what you can fit back there. The engine is weak but torquey around town, and the fat leather wrapped steering wheel paired with the suede seats are very nice features.

After having a ITR and a ~250whp D series EG, I thought the EP was going to be a huge disappointment but I love mine. It's a GREAT DD, there's little/no chance of it ever being stolen, and power mods are readily available if you decide to go that route. Also, IMO, it has the best honda interior next to the s2k. Great seats, awesome shifter position, roomy. I love mine, I wouldn't trade it for anything other than a new FA5.

lol@ the em1 over dc5 n ep3 ... as far as comfort goes in a daily driver.. i have never owned a better car for myself.. (drove aunts 03 C class around alot ) lol.. but other than that.. i mean i can throw my EP into ne corner with confidence and its something thats not too popular.... not to mention the shifter position is baller.. so much more comfortable that what i thought it be.

think of practicality:
gas mileage
interior comfort
ride comfort

the em1 is faster=lighter+more horsepower with decent interior (bland)
ep3 has less HP and slightly heavier-with amazing interior for daily

both ride smooth-IMO

ep3 is the win-cheaper and easier to find em1 is little more rare-holds its value even with higher mileage

The em1 has a b16 which has 160HP at the crank but has less Trq then the EP's k20a3. Ep is the better car and its rare. em1 look just like any other 2dr civic, while the EP is the first and only DOHC civic HB to hit the states.

ep3=not rare k20a3
em1=rare b16a2

agreed the ep3 is the better choice

alot of incorrect fact over here!!!

The EP3 isn't the first civic which came with a DOHC the EM1 was the first! B16a2 is a DOHC engine.

Also the EM1 doesn't make more power then the EP3. The EM1 makes 160hp and the EP3 makes 160hp too. Just that the EP3 has alot more torque and gearing is a lot shorter!
