shift linkage prob

Default shift linkage prob

i cant get the pin out of my shiftlinkage at the trany side any ideas never taken one out thanks

use a c-clamp, a socket, and a screwdriver bit. put the bit in the pin, put the socket on the other side of the pin. and clamp it, as you tighten the clamp agenst the bit it will push the pin out. and it will go inside the socket.. if you get that..lol

use a long A/C compressor bolt and grab a hammer. you won't break anything. it will pop right out

Just find a punch relative to the size of the hole that the pin goes in and tap it with a hammer and it should come out with like 3-4 taps. And NO your not hammering on your tranny. Give it a try.

yea, you're just banging on the part that controls whether you're able to go into gear or not. i'm not saying using an 8mm punch or an a/c compressor bolt won't work, because in most cases it will. i just prefer not to smack the hell out of the gear input selector and risk cracking a 15 year old transmission case.
