ok i drive a 1989 civic lx with a d15b2 and i was driving a night yesterday and the battery light came on so i started to head back to my house then my headlights kept getting dimmer and dimmer then the throttle kept cutting out and it died on the side of the road

today i put a new battery in it and it started up and ran fine but the light was still on i heard a squeaking nosie from the distrbuter pulled the cap off and the was a broken post peice so im getting one of those today i think its the alternator but im not sure.

 

Could be your alternator going bad. The battery light came on my Toyota Sienna, drain my battery while my car was running, changed the alternator, fixed the problem. Good luck.

 

alternator or alternator belt is bad.

 

you should have the alternator checked out too. before my car would almost die moving from a stop w/ the heater on. changed alternator and everything was fine
