Driver side headlight dimmer than pass. side?
Hello.
I bought an used 06' LX a month ago. I didn't see any problem with headlihgts at that time. Yesterday my friend told me your headlights are not same brigthness when he saw them by a room mirror. We checked it at last night. It is obviously that drive's is dimmer than passenger side.
I put the new bulb on that but nothing change. The car looks like hitting something before I bought because there is a gap between bumper and headlight housing on the driver's side.
What makes this problem?
Thanks.

My guess is that there is a Silvania Silverstar bulb in the passenger side light, and a regular bulb in the driver side light.
My car has had a very slight gap between the bumper cover and both headlights since it was brandy new.

Could be an angle of the one is off, making it appear brighter.
Could be a different bulb, as stated.
My car too has a gap between bumper and headlight. It's a Honda, not a Bentley. There is going to be gaps like that. You can loosen the bumper and refit it if you wish. It won't doo much, but the gap will diminish slightly. I did this with my rear bumper.

Yep...I wasn't happy with the way my rear bumper cover met the quarter panels (not flush), so I had my bumper loose adjusting it the first day I had it lmao.
I mean not much gaps compare to Bentrly. I can put one of my finger onto the gaps. The front look of my car is slightly lower on driver's side. It hits something on the front bumper before I bought even though the carfax was clean.
But the different angle makes me sense.
Thanks.

Since I bought it, absolutely no.
As usually a car is buying on daytime.
I checked every single componets as possible as I can but I did not see that much.
I want to know what problem is but not who or when.

This is a longshot, but have you checked the ground wire?
Since it was possibly in an accident, maybe the body shop guys didn't tighten the screws grounding the wire if it's hard to get to.
Do you notice any flickering over a bump?

Also check the alignment of the headlights. The passenger's side will always be slightly higher than the driver's side. This is so you don't blind oncoming traffic but are still able to see as much as possible. It will always appear slightly dimmer, even when everything is 100% perfect.
test the voltage at the headlight socket. check for corrosion or loose connections.
i dont think it could be the ground wire since headlights are wired in parallel and share the same ground. hell, check it anyway
