Icon6 A/C problem

My 1997 Honda Accord a/c compressor went bad, I did change the dryer, expansion valve, and compressor. There were a lot of metal in the system, I did clean up the whole system very good, after recharge the system my gauges are reading the follow; low side looks normal same with the high side; also temperature inside car is normal if the car is running at 1500 rpm or higher, temperature inside is about 43 degrees; but at iddle or stop at red light it start blowing warm about 70 degrees.
I did not change the a/c switch interruptor. It could be this the problem?
any ideas at what I can look for.
By the way I live in Arizona an is HHHHOOOOOTTTTT
Thanks
Marcio

I have a 96 accord and i had almost the same problem. check your a/c condenser fan beside the radiator fan and see if it works. it probably does not and you can replace it for about $99 at a local parts store or either somewhere around the neighborhood of $40 on ebay. ebay is your friend lol.. hope this helps

Default hope this helps...

with my recent accord ac problem and in an effort to understand, after much web searching i found 2 very useful aircon sites.

polarbearinc.com gives excellent description of fundamental ac issues inc. gauge interpretation

and

ackits.com can highly recommend the forum there.

ok guys, i have a 97 honda accord EX. My first sign of AC trouble was water leaking into the passenger side floor. Then when I turned a curve it would FREEZE my feet and get them soaking wet on the drivers side. Then the air got warm. So I recharged and all that jazz. Levels looked AWESOME...blowing cold air...life was good. So then I get the vapors...then the switch to control the amount of air it blows out (temp control maybe) stops working on setting numbers 1,2, and 3 and now blows full force on 4. That worked for about a day...then the fan started SCREAMING.

I have researched and researched and I really do not want to fix what is not broken because the car is older and I did not pay much for it to begin with.

Any suggestions before I take the dash apart and rip it all out...GRRRR!

1. Water leak: the drain outlet of the evaporator is probably clogged. The evaporator is behind the gloves box. Disconnect the drain hose and clean the drain outlet. Put a big plasic bag on the floor or you will flood the floor.
2. Blower speed conntrol: pull out the speed control **** and check if the **** is broken. If the **** is ok, the blower resistor is short.
3. fan screaming: do not have idea now.

If the fan is screaming the bearings probably got wet and fried the bearings.
