Hey Guy's Im building a all motor H22. (BC rods w/ arp 2000 bolts) was putting motor together and streched 2 rod bolts so I figured Im doing something wrong. I Torqued a few rods to 95 lbs foot starting at 5 lbs going up 10 lbs till 95 lbs and its fine, but if I go by BC manual it says to Torque to 5 lbs then to 100-90 lbs with one pull, thats were I start streching the bolts (my Torque wrench dose not click when I do that) So what should I do? I just wana do this right
100lbs on rod bolts.. what the hell..http://www.arp-bolts.com/Catalog/Cat...talog_0025.pdf
40lbs i believe for arp rod bolts.

woah..........wtf....100ft/lbs......not even 1/2" headstuds get torqued to that spec.....
you sir ****ed up those bolts and rods....you might need new rods if the threads are no good.

somewhere around 40ftlbs for a bolt that size.
keep this in mind
the smaller the fastener the less TQ
the larger the fastener the more TQ
so anytime you see a bolt roughly the size of something you have TQed before you know ballpark what it can take before you stretch the fastener

Im sure every one did a mistake before....
well got it done right today, to 45 lbs foot. let me tell you thows bolts are hecka strong, I think I messed up one thread on a rod (whent in a littel hard) but other then that Looks like it will hold up. Might need to some super glue to that one thow

ummm I'm surprised they didn't break. Are you using a helms manual to put your motor together? You should check how much you stretched the bolts. Just to give you the benefit of the doubt to see that their actually f**ked up and don't want to run them. Its only going to cost you more money in the long run......
Take one of your new rod bolts and one of the used ones that your already torqued to 100 ft lbs and compare how the don't line up anymore...
