Did I screw up? Alpine PDX-5 and 2 ohm loads
My toys got here today. Quick question though
I have Infinity 62.9i and 60.9cs components, a Kicker CVT65 sub and an Alpine PDX-5 amp.
All speakers are 2 ohm speakers. I know the amp will do a 2 ohm load into the sub channel no problem. My question is, are the components going to play nice with the other 4 channels of the amp? No having to worry about the amp overheating?
Here's a link to Alpine's spec sheet:
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...&lang=en&tab=F
The power rating portion is a bit confusing.
On a side note, I'm pretty impressed by the certificate that came with the amp

you should be fine as long as you do a few things:
1. provide the proper gauge wire to the amp and have a proper current flow setup:
( "big 3,upgraded oem battery,solid ground points,etc) - think of this analogy-
Ever try to drink/suck a shake through a soda straw?
2. there is enough clearance for the amp to have proper air flow.
You have to remember we move kinda slow in these parts, but the info that you get from some us industry vets in pretty damn good. Good luck.
