lifted off valve cover, 2 rocker arms laying in the head
B20A5
The ball and socket appear to be OK. Cam lobe and rocker have no visable wear or damage. Can these be put back w/o removing the cam? I tried backing off the ball with no luck. Not enough space to fit it in.
I am also very curious as to how and why they just popped off. The car was not started for a couple years. I got it running by replacing the fuel pump, and drove it 50 or so miles before this happened. It actually ran very good. I am pretty sure it happened on startup, because it was running good when parked.
I an hoping some idea's from the experts. I have limited knowledge of the quirks of these honda engines.
TIA

There are not a whole lot of 3rd gen Prelude guys here. You could try preludepower.com if you don't get anything here - that's where the 3rd gen people hang out.
IIRC the B20As are pretty similar to the H23's and B18As in terms of cam/rocker mechanism. If that's the case you'll pretty much have to remove the cam to get it back in there. High RPM B18s have had issues with spitting out rockers at high rpm.
you can put them back in without pulling the cam (since obviously they came out that way) but be careful doing it. it is a challenge.
and make sure that piston is down. also back off the clearance adjuster nut all the way.
