i bought the bottom end, it was advertised as only 4500 to 5k miles and other then minor scratches in the cyl as fine to use, well its bad, it sounds worse then a power stroke diesel and has low compression in 2 and 3, it uses a 1/4 quart of oil to just drive 30 miles and it smokes the entire time. i understand that 1200 is a fair price for a sleeved block with rods and pistons, but the ONLY reason i went this route was to save time and be able to race the rest of this season, this thing sounds like its on its death bed. I also know you did not use the motor and bought it as is, but you and the guy you bought it from both talked to me and told me it was ok. I am going to get it tuned and run it as is , mostly due to me not having any choice now, but i am not happy about being mislead about its condition, intentional or not its not the low mileage ready to run block it was advertised as, it will need to be bored to 84.5 to be used properly which means new pistons. not to mention more down time and cost of the machine work. i guess it was only a matter of time until i got ripped off, up till now i have always had the fortune of dealing with 100% honest people.
