Radiator fan wired into fuse box?
Okay so my head unit stopped working so i checked the fuse in the engine bay and then checked the radio fuse under my dash... I took out the radio fuse and this blue wire that runs to my radiator fan was wired into the radio fuse spot? The fuse wasn't blown so I don't know what's wrong with my head unit, but just wondering why the fan is wired into the fuse box? Also just wondering if it's bad to run it like that, and there was a 20 fuse in the radio spot and the diagram showed there should be a 10? Anyone want to explain this to me and should I replace the 20 with a 10? Thanks.
I have heard of people wiring their fans to run everytime the engine is on, especially, if they use the car primarily in the city.
If they started the car and the radio wouldn't work they would know that their fan wasn't working either. It is a troubleshooting/warning technique.
If the OEM fan fuse was 10 Amp and the OEM radio fuse was 10 Amp then they knew that wiring the fan and radio to the same spot would blow the 10 Amp radio fuse, too often.
They may have experimented with a 15 Amp fuse and they may have gone straight to the 20 Amp fuse.
