contemplating H brace
I have been thinking about H braces for the DC2. I know that lower subframe braces work i.e. a cusco STI brace actually stiffens the car. Anyway I was paroosing other forums on the H brace for an integra. Many people regaurded there use as merely a skid plate, and did not notice much else, and had clearance issues as well. I cannot find one from a reputable company so I was wondering if they are a bad investement or could it be just those Megan H braces?
Why is this in the suspension forum?
If we're talking about the brace for the subframe, I feel that they are a waste of money and ground clearance.

There was an old post about about the h brace . Just be careful it lowers the clearance on you car. In it the guy says it has good clearance but if that was on my car if i encountered a dip in the road that thing or my car would be ****ed.
Here is a link. The bar is a NRG h brace though.

I have the NRG H brace on my car and my car is pretty low (about 2 inches from stock) and yes ive scraped it a few times here and there. But that was over the years (3 to be exact) It is very good quality and doesnt hang low like the megan one did (which i had). That one broke at the welds; the one that attaches it to the passenger LCA bolt and frame. Basically to see mine you have to really look under there, the megan you can see it easily without kneeling under the car.
I wouldnt get a megan at all. it will scrape and you'd have to dodge elevated sewer covers, speed bumps and the like. From my experience (with the NRG bar) i feel the car tighter in the turns and side to side transistions. i have loads of suspension upgrades so i notice the smallest things. But i does make it harder to do simple maintenance like oil changes and other things. But again thats my experience with them

If you look at how the brace connects, I think that your effort/money would be better spent replacing the bushings on the front lower control arms. If you have original bushings in your dc2, then they are between 9 and 16 yrs old....
Okay thanks everyone, except for the first guy who replied. i wanted to know cause I was gonna buy one almost immediately before I had to leave town. In any case, would you guys only recommend this for a car built for track use only, or is it not even worth it then? It seems like a cheap upgrade, but I don't think I want the hassle of that thing being in the way as I am always working on my car. Everything I do is for a reason, I guess I needed a good reason wheather or not to purchase. thanks again everyone.
Ah yes. tunernOOb, you were of no help at all, so don't post if you cannot contribute to an intelligent conversation. This forum exists so people can share ideas and knowledge at there own free will. If you don't like the thread, it is best to keep looking becuase you came off as a jerk trying to impose you're opinions on how the forum rules should be.
