I had made a previous post but I don't want to bring back the dead. Currently I have the Megan racing its loud to say the least. Now what is the #1 rule for "types" of exhaust common sense tells me I would want a "straight through" muffler, so I was looking at the Vibrant flat black. Does anyone use this exhaust?
I was looking around you tube and I saw some sound clips of other turbo civics with this exhaust. It's a very good sounding exhaust similar to the WS2 but a bit louder. Does anyone use this exhaust the Vibrant Flat Black? Or anything similar to it? I am looking for a oval exhaust.

O ok yea well I have a Ek coupe with 2.0l gsr with t4/t67 made 523whp on pump gas and 626whp on c16 with 1000cc's and a single walbro my Thermal exhuast is awesome the only way I am getting rid of that exhuast is when the 3 inch holds me back and I need a 4 inch.
Bought it from nolimitmotorsports. They are a dealer on honda-tech. I also have a 2 buddies with turbo eks that have the vibrant 3 inch mufflers. They sound good also.

Yea, I have that garbage Megan fart can on my boosted teg... Its def too loud for me. Im thinking about just throwing a 3" Dynomax Super Turbo (rolled steel) muffler on it, since they look stock and my car is a sleeper!
Vibrant all the way, we use them all day on turbo cars. We also keep them on the shelf because there so popular

i've had a megan racing muffler...didn't sound horrible but build construction was crap. I'm currently running a 3" vibrant. Sounds great but eventually it's being taken off whenever I get around to making a one-off with a burns stainless ultra-lite.
Setup is basically stock gsr with afi street kit. 3 inch all the way back no cat to a vibrant muffler. When cruising I think its actually pretty quite. However, when you mash down on it the exhaust is rather loud but thats to be expected. The best thing however is the fact that its black and not going to draw alot of attention. You can't go wrong with the vibrant muffler.
I always say if you're looking for a quite muffler that's not restrictve get the biggest magnaflow you can get... if you can get a resonator too... both straight through design.
The resonator will take a lot of the rasp out of the exhaust note and the more material in the muffler even if it's straight through the quiter it will be.
On my D16z6 NA I had a magnaflow bolton exhaust with a freaking 6" fartcan and I got pulled over twice in so many days... I cut it off and bolted up a 14x24x2.5" magnaflow straight through and it was totally fine... nice low tone without being TOO loud at full throttle.

Yep, Magnaflows work great for me too, even without a turbo (which tends to sound louder and nastier).
the dynomax super turbo will deffinatley quiet things down. depending on how much power you are planning to make its not that bad of a choice. for sub 350whp its ok. if you plan to make more than you want something more free flowing.
i just removed my dynomax super turbo. i didn't think i could get it any quieter than that until i was told about this Australian company who makes exhausts. xforce and their internal cut-out muffler varex.
the varex muffler is somewhat expensive but if you factor in the total costs of trying to add a exhaust cut out plus all the fabrication costs/work and trying to find a proper place to exhaust the gasses without burning anything the varex muffler is a pretty good deal.
i installed the 3" inlet with twin dual 3" outlet tips.....anyway....with the cutout closed it is completely QUIET.....i mean like STOCK QUIET!!....i was amazed. i never heard ANY 3" exhaust this quiet before.......all i hear is the engine. with the cutout out open the tone is a low deep melow sound. very bearable. its comparable to my old dynomax muffler setup only its a 3" straight thu flow when it's fully open.
anyway enough of me babbling.......if you want to see video's of this thing in action xforce has them on their website. they have vendors all over the world including canada/usa. there are some on ebay for sale too. website: http://xforce.com.au/cars/view_car/29

That cutout muffler sounds cool!
FWIW, I've back-to-backed a great big Dynomax for RVs with a offset/center oval Magnaflow 4x9x18, both setup for 2.5" tubing in/out. The Magnaflow was actually a little quieter in low-load conditions, but had a little more bark in WOT operation. Magnaflow was the clear winner for me, and I've always been a big fan of the Dynomaxes (for 15+ years).
