I have an lsd b16a hydraulic transmission with an ls 5th gear. Its grinding a bit and I am goingto undertake a rebuild, but since its a boosted car I wanted to add a gsr 3rd and 4th gear. Just making sure this is possible and if any year hydraulic gsr tranny would be fine to use the 3rd + 4th from. I would get them brand new, and also plan on using mfactory syncros. thanks

 

Better off with the B16 gears.

ok thanks, guess i will take your advise and just do the rebuild with the same gears. I just always hear people saying " the perfect tranny for boost is b16 1st/2nd gsr 3rd/4th and ls 5th for the highway which i already have and love. thanks

 

They're backwards. GSR 1/2 and B16 3/4.

 

ITR, GSR, and B16 ratios are all great factory options for any racing in general. Pick a final drive based on what mph you'd like to see in the gears and you're done.
