Default Swapping gears in an LS Tranny?

I have an LS Tranny in my Boosted GSR, is it possible to install lets say a B16 5th gear to shorten the high end? How about a different final drive to make it rev faster? I did a search and did not come up with much......anybody ever experiment with these modifications??

It is doable. Make sure when you swap 5th gears, you change both the counter and main shaft gears. Also the final drive, make sure you swap both the ring gear and the countershaft.

here is what u should do

B16A2 Tranny, LS 5th gear and a LSD

that would be a pimp *** tranny, the quick gears from 1st till 4th and 5th gear long for freeway driving.

I would love to do something like that but I allready have the LS with a quaife, brand new ACT XTR6 and brand new Streelite Flywheel otherwise I would consider that.

b16 shift fork, b16 3rd gear, gsr 4th gear. and leave it at that. you have a quaife on your 4.2666 final drive. well instead of getting a b16 5th gear, get a 4.4 or a 4.785 final drive
bense, who's jealous of the nice readily available oem ratios that b-series can offer over d-series.
more info in the sig.
