98 civic ex is making a really harsh sound from the timing belt side of the valve cover and giving no cell code.car sounds like its bending valves or something,motor is shaking like hell also. had a call from the girlfriend that it was broke down,and when it started this morning it shot all 3 belts off. i put a new crank pully pin in and brought it home,now i have no idea what the hell to do......help...please!!

 

did not mention car has 115k mi ,and i dont know if the timing belt has been replaced. it has been throwing codes for rear o2 sensor heater,and tps for a while ,but i dont think that would cause this.

 

Is the alternator, power steering pump, compressor, or idley pulley seized?

 

nope i just put the belts back on to get it home.all pulleys spin freely for sure.

 

What is causing the drive belts to break or come off? Is the crank pulley wobbling?

 

yes the crank pully sheered the key off. i replaced the key this morning,when the belt and crank pulley were off i started the car and it still made this noise.

 

sounds like someone put a handfull of pebbles in the oil fill. not possible though checked the oil too,and no sediment or shavings visible

 

Sounds like a burnt valve? idk or something in the bottom end is going for a hike.
