H.I.D. people Help?
1998 EK cx.
Okay So I Order some HIDs off ebay, installed it and everything was fine.
The only part of the installation that i'm confused about is How you guys install the actual HID bulb into the headlight lamp. When I removed the pin that held the stock bulbs in place I didn't know how to install it back on the HID?
Would I put the pin back to hold the bulb in place in the headlight?
Then put the rubber grommet back on?
The reason I wonder this is because I put my hids on without using the pin to hold the bulb in place because I don't know what angle and far the bulb should be in the headlamp. And I don't know what a right position bulb looks like in there.
But when I test my lights in the dark there is a weird shape light kind of on the ground, its shining straight forward, but also kinda all over the place.
I remember reading that I would have to retro fit something, or get a projector? to make sure my bulb is pointing the right direction in the lamp.
Or is there a certain way of adjusting the bulb to reduce the light everywhere?
sorry for such a long post...
anyone HID owners? help/feedback/tips would be great
thanks for reading.

Dude WTF did you do with the install??
As long as you got H4 bulbs it should be plug and play. The bulb only goes in one way, so if it doesnt fit rotate it. Once it sits you should be able to use the metal clip to hold the bulb down.
Yes, reinstall the grommet. Itll help prevent water from getting there. I have 4300K HID's on my 99 and the grommet fits perfect.

the whole reason I made the thread is because I want avoid the Light beaming everywhere.
you just flamed me for the purpose of my thread. GREAT. learn to read.
anyways, I got the h4 bulb and I'm not stupid had an ek before but the bulb didn't have a position where it sat stationary where I could fit it the tight with the pin and grommet.
I also heard of some people modifying the pin so it would hold their bulb in place, anyone with an EK have to do this?

That's not necessary, he just asked a simple question. Not everyone has the time, money or skill to do a retrofit, so give him a break.
OP, make sure you have H4 bulbs like stated earlier, it should twist right in. You probably have the wrong type of bulb. Also, once you get everything up and running make sure you aim your H.I.D.'s low so you don't blind on coming drivers.
Later on start reading up on retrofitting H.I.D.'s

i have hids in mine with 0 issues, you shouldnt have to modfy anything, its called pnp for a reason
put the light bulb all the way in, till it cant, now put the clip on! thats about as easy as it gets.
the light only goes one way.
yes youll need a retro fit, but with some time, and aiming, you can get the lights to be aimed ok, but you will almost always have light thrown everywhere with out a retro fit.
