ITR CAMS
200whp, wow thats sounds awesome. im currently in the research stages of my build.
i have a 97 SiR-G with ITR cams, Skunk2 intake manifold, Type R ECU, everything else is BONE Stock. i dynoed and got 150whp, smoking a bit only in vtec so i know i rebuild is necessary.
what else do u guys think i can put together to make this rebuild a worthy one?
My mech along with friends say im gonna need CTR pistons to make real power. so thats on the list.
After check out the all motor section i have some things in mind,
I really jus wanted to kno the most power achievable with the ITR cams or have anybody hav good experiences with them?

the dyno you use and air temp heavily effect the numbers you see. going after xxx horsepower is a worthless pursuit. the one place in your combo i could see you gaining hp is by using something like a hondata s100 to do the tune on a socketed obd1 ecu. your header and exhaust are also power areas. the other thing is your head, when you installed the itr cams in the gsr head did you buy itr valve springs for the intake side and move your existing intakes to the exhaust?

ok im not really goin after a specific horse power goal. im really jus interested in the highest attainable whp with ITR cams and a good setup that is.
the setup now isn't bad. if you have a decent header, free flowing cat and decent cat back, i would just do the hondata s100 and find a good tuner. you can get slightly better mpg and a few more hp by maximizing the map. the only other options are upping the compression or porting the head, well and porting the manifold.
I am currently runnig ITR cams in my GSR 182/134 on a dynojet, SAE numbers. I have raised the compression ratio to 11.5:1 and the head is PnP'd. Very soon 1-2 weeks I will have my SMSP Header installed and tuned. Hoping to get around 195 on the same dyno.

any one else running ITR cams on their GSR, and wat kinda power u making?
Head work, headwork and headwork is whats going to make power for you. I have a buddy with a LS/Vtec 13:1 compression ratio and ITB's and he barely makes over 200whp tuning with hondata s300.
One other thing to get 200whp or close to this in a GSR with ITR cams you will have to spend some money. The head is PnP'd, the Intake Manifold in also PnP'd and I have a SMSP header. All of which are very costly. I my case this is what I wanted to do. I have very specific goals for this build.
You can use a Skunk2 IM and ITR cams and get closer to the 200whp peak number but your low end and mid range torque will be lower.
I am running USDM ITR Pistons.

Yea i basically kno this car hobby is pretty expensive in whatever ur doing.
I jus want to spend on the right formula.
BTW are u using the stock GSR throttle body or did u upgrade???
you have two options with porting the head. one, is the cheap one. you buy the standard abrasives video and their porting kit, spend 8hrs in the garage with the die grinder and do a basic clean up. the second option is have a professional do it. if you go this route i would suggest just buying an endyn head. also, compression wise, you want to give thought to what you're doing. going over 11:5-1 on itr cams and cast pistons most likely will lead do having to pull timing when the car is being tuned if you use pump gas. this is bad for mpg. if you use a forged piston and endyns reshaped head you can get away with 12:1 and pump gas. the thing about all this is the fist full of cash it costs. buying an s100 and decent header are easy to install and bring up the power. rather than spend $2000 more chasing 15whp i would just buy a jackson supercharger. they don't have the lag of a turbo and can pop you up 40-60whp pretty easy
ok wen u say ur head is port n polished, what exactly was P n P?? the intake ports n exhaust ports?? was it jus a mild P n P like similiar to a ITR head.

I have a moderately worked over head. Intake, exhaust, chambers, I even have coatings in the exhaust ports. My head has better flow than an ITR head. I have a GSR TB bored out to 64mm.
This might help.

, im guessin u have an upgraded clutch kit setup with lightened flywheel etc..
I have somthing similar in mind. i think im gonna work with ITR cams cuz they seem pretty good with some supporting mods.
Thanks aot OH_1fstgsr.
Oh idrivesideways im looking for a NA build, no NOS no Forced Induction, all natural yo.
The rest is up to driving skills
if you want to do an NA build drive what you have as it is and buy a k24 block to build. b series na builds are just not worth it unless you have around 12,000 to spend on a real stroker combo. endyn will sell you a turnkey 275whp b series if you pony up. i would figure out what you want out of the car before you buy anything. if you race, design it around the class you compete in. if you just drag race.......well....see the comment about k24
if you spend anytime at all in the all motor forum you will see a bunch of bitchy people who argue over how to make 3 more whp
