Battery Charger Help
So I got a job working out of my home and most of the time on the road. Company provides me with a car which is great but when I finally got around to picking it up I left my 99 hatchback at my brother-in-laws for 2 weeks without being started. When I got back the battery was dead and I got the dreaded click, click, click. Jump started it and it ran fine all the way home.
Bought a battery charger and charged the battery at 4amps until the unit said it was fully charged. Popped it in and it barely cranked over but it worked. Next day it started clicking again and wouldn't crank over. Charged it again and it barely started again. I drove it to pick up my son from daycare for about 45 minutes. Waited about an hour and cranked it over again.
The battery sounds very weak and chances are tomorrow morning it will give me the clicking again. The battery seems to not be holding a charge. I'm not sure how old the battery is but it doesn't look old at all. Any help from the battery gurus out there would be great. Do you think once its fully charged I should drive it for atleast an hour if it doesn't start tomorrow. Does anyone know where it should be to hold a charge if I test it with a voltmeter? I'm trying to work with what I have here so please do not answer with take it to autozone because honestly, the people that work at my local autozone don't know $hit.
Let me know guys. Thanks.
