just dropped the motor back into my honda crx. its a b18c1 with a jdm b16 lsd trans. everything is hooked up fine. it seems to shift into gear when its not running. when its running, it wont shift into gear. i have tried adjusting the clutch. the linkage looks fine. any help on this?

 

what about when you put it ino gear and then start? are you able to shift? if not its youre clutch. pressure plate faulty

 

the car tried to run forward on me when i did that. idk what the deal is.

 

the other time i tried to start it in 1st it kinda of popped out of gear.

 

you put the clutch disc on backwards. same exact thing happened to me. IDENTICALLY.
I paid 300+ for honda to turn around my clutch disc. sucks for me.

Im having this same problem with my STOCK clutch 142,002 .. new clutch presure plate flywheel going in this weekend.

Just think its weird if his clutch is in backwards and causes this problem then what could my problem be ?

 

air in the system? have you tried a bleed yet?

 

you don't need to if you just unhook the slave cylinder. no fluid changes hands.

 

what im saying is there could be air in the system, try a bleed.. it couldnt hurt and its inexpensive

 

the question for this is, do you know if the tranny is a hydro tranny or cable? he did say that he put the engine in a crx.

op, check to make sure the clutch cable isn't too tight.

haha wow guys. its a cable trans and we thought the problem was throw out bearing but turns out yeah... backwards clutch lol. what a painful mistake.
