I recently launched my gsr and broke an axle, i then replaced it with an autozone duralast one. since ive installed the new one, at high speeds (FWY) the axle on the passenger side, which goes directly into the tranny comes out just slightly i have to wiggle it back in place. is it a bad axle or something in the transmission?

 

oh **** dude you dont even know my buddy had the same problem and we thought it was the tranny....comes to find out that autozone axles SUCK BALLZ big time. My buddy went through 3 of those cheap *** axles and finally me and my other buddy rebuilt it with OEM ends that were laying around. Try buy better axles and if it still does it then its probley the trans but im most definetly sure its the axle

 

I love auto zone axles for the simple reason that you have a life time warranty on them. If they snap then you get a new one for free. Now tell me someone that can bet that.?

 

Ya but some ppl are saying it could be the bushing thats bad from when i snapped my previous axle and wont hold it in at high speeds?

 

look to see if there is an c clip at the end of the axle where it goes into the axle.. i just recently replaced my driver side axle with an autozone one and now my car shakes if i gas it...sucks but ill jsut get a new one

 

well like i said that was what my buddies integra was going except it completely popped out of the tranny everytime

 

he has no problems anymore that we rebuilt it

 

if it wiggles out then its the axle locking ring . but also make sure u have the axle for the right side because the splines are alittle longer then the side that has the halfshaft .

trust me i had the same thing happen pn the freeway i bet when it wiggles out alittle and the car is on tht axle shakes when u look at it while motor is on funny **** lol

i had this problem but my problem was they actually gave me an axle that was too short, maybe about an inch. I think it was from a 90 integra. Then when I did get the right axle it only lasted about 4 months until crazy vibrations and clicking and popping. I guess its all the mad cRazy tork! from my 11.4-1 gsr... lol i dunno, they suck

yea its got to be the wrong axle. cuz even if the C clips arent holding they still shouldnt be coming all the way out like that. take it back and compare it to another one. cuz if axles could come out without taking of the ball joints ive wasted alot of time over the last 10 years, alot!

 

I had the same exact problem and here it ended up that the boot wouldnt let the alxle expand enough when going around a corner. So I took off the axle and slid the boot so the axle can expand and ive havent had any problems since

 

ya ill get it changed out hopefully its the axle and nothing in the tranny...ill keep you guys posted

 

Def the wrong axle, too short and wasnt clipping in I bet.
