Help me I.D. these rods and pistons
My buddy came across these rods and pistons, he was told they were pulled out of an all motor B20 build.
The rods don't have any name brand or part number stamped or printed on them. My buddy was told me they were Scat rods, but I'm not so sure. The pistons clearly say ARIAS underneath and say 8127 HP below the "ARIAS" stamp.
On the underside of the piston, there is a part number "331820" stamped on all of them, but when I look on the website, I can not find that part number. Also, they are 84mm bore.
I've been calling Arias all day, but I keep getting a voicemail, and didn't receive a call back. Please help me I.D. these parts, I would like to use them in my next build if they are in fact quality parts. My buddy can get them for $350 from his co-worker who's selling them. His co-worker has no clue about the parts cause he bought the car with these parts already installed and he recently took it apart to go turbo internals.

well from looking at the size of that dome they are at least 11.5-12:1 if not higher. Arias makes some great pistons and is a quality product. Now for the rods, I would never personally choose scat but on the upside they do appear to have 3/8" ARP 2000 rod bolts which beats the hell out of the smaller 5/16" ones. For $350 that sounds like a fair price and I would probably do it if I had a block to put them in.
What ever happened to Tom Cote?
I haven't bought them yet, I kinda wanted to know what kind of rods they were before I bought them. In any case, I will buy them, have the big bore ends reconditioned and checked to ensure they are true, and perhaps have the piston skirts coated. Any suggestions on where to send the pistons?
Endyn does skirt coatings and ceramic dome coatings. check out www.theoldone.com
