An IHI turbo will work well on a 1.6L. If it is off a newer Subaru, it will be ideal. BMC Race makes an adapter plate that allows the turbo to bolt to a factory HF exhaust manifold. The stock wastegate is about 7lbs, which is almost perfect. To make the coolant lines and oil return work properly, you will have to rotate the center section.

1.) Nobody likes to read all CAPS LOCK...

2.) Nobody likes to read poorly written sentences.

3.) The center section is the center of the turbo. It does not get any more basic then that. It is in-between the compressor and the turbine housings... where the oil goes.

Word man.

Grammar. I learned it in elementary school. Learn it. HT hates people who talk in all caps.

What is the point of going through all that work for 2~3lbs?
Set your goals a little higher please. Shoot for 6~8lbs or something.

If you grab hold of the shaft that passes through the turbo (screws through both fans) try pushing it side to side as well as up and down. It shouldn't move much. IF that thing is moving noticeably then I wouldn't suggest using it. It may cause damage with oil going where it's not supposed to.

The physical size tells a little of the story, but posting AR and size numbers is much more helpful.

Finally - what is your goal here?
It sounds sort of like you are expecting a big result - spanking V8s.
Just slapping on a turbo and not knowing where you will be seeing boost is no help to you.
