Default EP3 Key

Recently purchased an 05 EP3 with only one key.

So I call the dealer today to ask about purchasing another key, ZOMG $70 for the key and $40 to program. $110 is a bit steep for me. Anyone know a cheaper alternative? I have found un-programed/un-cut keys on eBay for $13 shipped, anyone have any experience with this? Obviously they would need cut and programed but has anyone gone this route to reduce cost?

The mall can't make a key that will drive the car because of the immobilizer chip....

You might have to buy the key from the dealership because of the immobilizer. If you were getting just a FOB you could program that yourself easy

How often do you plan on getting a new key anyway? I'm assuming you will only need to purchase a spare key once and you might as well go OEM. Especially seeing how that's really your only option.
