I have a question for those who have more experience.
First of all, I know that each head has its matched cam caps from the factory.
I want to know if you can maybe have a new set of caps aling-bored to match the head?
If so, what is the process for this? What exactly needs to happen?
Thanks for any and all contributions.

Yes, it can be done. It just depends if the machine shop is equipped with both the equipment and qualified personnel.
Basically you grind a little off the mating surface of the caps to close up the bore then you line hone it back to the original diameter.

what he said....unfurtunately though most of the time the process usually cost more than the head is worth unless it has some machine work already done to it, or you know someone that does it for a living. This is twice as true when its a DOHC because they have to do twice as much.
