Default Low Budget Lowering Help

Hello guys, i also posted a thread abt buyin an EF Sedan. But my budget is really low.
When i came across the idea of lowering the car, i got confused. I dnt have much xperience with cars so help me.

I want to lower my car abt 1.5-3 inches, i searched ebay and a set of lowering springs of ebay will cost me no more that 70bucks . The question is can i use them with stock shock absorbers and struts or no?

The next option is the xpensive, tein, skunk2 etc springs, but still will i need to buy new shocks etc.

And the last one is d coilover kit, but is an ef worth it? And hw much will one kit cost me. I mean one that wont blow up after weeks and will ride pretty much good.

AND YA wha if i cut the stock springs a bit, to loose abt 1.5 inch of my ride height. Wat will be d result. Poor ride quality, blown shocks. Hmmmm if the ride quality is really nt that bad dan i can cut the springs and have it that way for 2-3 months until i can afford some good coilovers.

if you dont care about the crappy ride you can ride on the lowering springs. I personally wouldnt buy ebay ones, the Megan Racing ones are the cheapest ones I would buy. You can get the d2 lowering springs or Ksport, they are pretty cheap and go pretty low. As far as quality cheap coilovers your only choice would be PIC ($750) or Progress ($600)

Do NOT cut your springs. Ghetto is no way to go. Risking your life isn't either. Just get some cheapo ones on ebay. or PIC's

See my info about cutting stock springs here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/cutting-coil-springs-some-clarification-2649848/

I say it sounds like you are on a tight budget. For 1.5 inch drop, you can cut 1 or 2 coils off your stock springs and the ride will be 15-30% stiffer without destroying your stock dampers. If you really want a 3 inch drop you should buy some springs and dampers designed for that much lowering. If you use ebay "coilovers" aka springs with adjustable perches, they will be underdamped with stock dampers and the car will be bouncy.

Hope that helps,
-Tony

This is the reason you should leave the car alone if you don't have the money to mess with it, you end up doing some ghetto **** and spending more money in the long run.

Leave it alone until you save about $800
