Opinions on the Eibach Pro-Kit
Well, I'm looking into some springs, and I know that I want Eibach--they've been in the business long enough to know how to do their ****. The Pro-Kit that I'm looking into is good for a 1.3" drop all the way around (I'm looking for a clean subtle drop, no slamming here). Will these springs work well with factory shocks, or is it completely necessary to get aftermarket shocks? If so, would something such as a full Tokico Illumna Shock/Spring set be better to look into? I found the Pro-Kit for $245.00 shipped online...has anyone found better, besides ebay?
No Limit Motorsports has a group buy for them and they cost $210 shipped. I have Koni Yellows as well, so I can't really say anything about the ride /w stock shocks. As for as height, I have no gap in the front and 1 finger between the rear tire and the car with the Konis on the lowest height setting. BTW, I absolutely love the ride with this setup. Nice and firm, not harsh at all...unless you want it to be...full firm on the konis
Here's the groupbuy: http://www.groupbuycenter.com/buy.asp?row_id=6430.
here's the wheel gap in the front(not sure if i have a pic of the rear):

i've seen eibach pro-kit on a 5gen......friend of mine....he's pretty low. 1 finger gap at the most...dunno if you wanna go that low
H&R might be a better choice

Cannot comment on price except to say that it is about right. I had the Eibach Prokit on my '99 5th gen and switched to Neuspeed Sport. My setup includes Koni yellow shocks and a Neuspeed rear sway bar. Works just fine for me at Watkins Glen and Pocono. You will find that the Eibach springs are a bit softer than the Neuspeed.
In addition, we had an issue with ride heights in the front on the Eibachs. The 5th gen left front is heavier than any other corner by nature and the Eibachs showed it more than the Neuspeed on my Base SS.
Whichever way you go-make sure to do the project in one shot and get the car aligned.

ive got an eibach prokit and i love the springs. my stock shocks have been holding up for the past year, although i installed sway bars and now my ride is a lot bumpier. i bought my prokit for $164 although it was wholesale... i think you can find a better price than $245.

finally getting my eibach coilovers this weekend, stock shocks for now until i can afford it... but i'm just excited to get slammed.
i've had eibach springs before on my GSR, nice stiff racey ride.

$245 is a bit much for pro-kit springs. You might want to check local speed shops. I think my bro picked up eibach pro-kit springs for about $160 or so a year ago. Stock shocks are fine, but they won't last forever.
Here's a pic of his car. With the kit and 18's, it's very low, but the ride is still nice. About the same as my car w/ h&r sport on a 4th gen.
