Anyone pulled the head off a 2nd gen 1.8?
The timing belt slipped on my gf's 86 lude base and we need to check to see if it bent valves. How long does it take? We may just do a leakdown test first, that should tell us.
not to long but it is hard to get the carb manifold off as there are hidden bolts on the bottom. and label all of the lines you pull off with masking tape and a sharpie starting with (A,A B,B) and when puting it togeather go down the alphabit so you don't mix any vaccume lines or miss any.

I found it much easier to just keep all of the vacuum lines connected, as you know there are a ton of them. I just unbolted the head, and propped it up with a few box wrenches, giving me ~12" to do the head gasket. I remember being able to see the valves too with that amount of clearance. This was much easier than removing the head together. I have some pics of what it looked like, I can scan and upload if you need a visual....
