Default Help B18 problems

I have an ls in my ef, that has been acting up. For a while the rpms would jump all around, I am led to believe that this is the symptom of a bad ICM. But today when I was driving, I stopped and my car shut off. I started it again and it cranked right up, but every time I press the gas to go, the car just shuts off again.

Would the ICM cause my car to shut off when I hit the gas, or is it something else? I need help quick please, as my car is sitting on the side of the road until I can trailer it back to the house, hopefully I can fix the problem on the sport and drive her home.

Sounds like you do have a bad Ignition Control module, jumping tach needle is always a pretty sure sign of this.

You should check the CEL codes also, because the ICM will def throw code 15. Check to make sure you don't have any other issues while you are at it. Just trailer the car home and work on it there as you can look up online if you happen to find some other code stored in the ECU.

You need to check the codes and figure out what codes the car is throwing first. This will tell you what is wrong for the most part.

The tach needle jumping around is either the Igniter going out in the distributor or you have a small short in the blue tach wire, but more than likely it's the first of the two.

Tried a different main relay from a running car, and it still shuts off when i hit the gas. Could it be the TPS?

Could be a bad TPS, but it also sounds like the MAP Sensor could be bad.
