Default Darton Sleeved Block

Hey all, I'm starting to get into forced induction.

I have come across a *B18c1 Dart sleeved block 85mm with crank and accesories, fuelpump etc... It comes with oil pan wit a oil return fittin welded already, oil pump, and waterpump if he finds it. gsr crank..perfect condition. all for $500. I am picking it up tomorrow. I understand 85mm is pretty big, but is this still a good buy for what I want to do?

I just want to know if this is a good route for me to go..I am putting this in a 91 crx w/ ys1 gsr trans. i want a street/strip/daily out of this car for summers. probably run around 17psi of boost on 91 oct pump gas, or maybe e85 i'm not sure yet but yeah just to give u guys an idea.

here is a pic of the block:

THANKS!

I wouldnt offer him anything until you know the motor and all the parts are good. Id make him take it to a machine shop to be inspected.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I went and inspected the block myself. One of the sleeves had a small blemish that looked like it could be honed off..the crank had some marking on it from where the rod had hit.

All in all, I got a good deal for $500. I plan to get it all machined anyway, so these shouldn't matter anyway.

p.s. apparently it is a Dart sleeved block. lol my bad.

you were right the first time, its a darton sleeved block, dart is an aftermarket block all together. That engine will be great for boost and those sleeves are rated for TONS of boost

the nice part about the darton MID sleeves is they are replaceable....they are press fit in with a bunch of o-rings to seal it off at the bottom....if you absolutely had to you can buy the new sleeve kit and have it installed.
