Default boosting the h22a vs.k24

i have a h22a now in a 92 accord (2door) and obviously i want to go boost hence the reason why i am in this forum. but the question i have is about the internals. i know with the h22a im going to have to re sleeve the head which is really expensive and a turn off, also ive heard that people who have boost the h series are lucking for more power and there reverting to the k series.

is it really true that u can slap on a turbo kit on the k24 and get almost 500whp without touching the internals? without re sleeving the head? (please answer)
would that make it better? no one has actually explained why u should choose one over the other.everyone kinda goes back and fourth. i need real pros and cons

the k24 is a pretty cheap engine but what would be a good tranny thats not expensive and will work well with the k24?

Noob problem! but it's ok

1. No STOCK Honda engine can be used DD or even last a week if it is boosted to 500whp. I've seen K20's stock block made 300whp on very good tune, however with that compression you have a very marginal error when it comes down to detonation, rod/crank fatigue.

2. Sleeving the head?? wtf, u meant sleeving the BLOCK. Before you worry about the sleeves, (since most honda iron sleeves can hold 400whp) you will be shooting rods or blowing rings.

3. You are right that slapping a turbo on K24 would go good. Despite that you mentioned the K24 engine is cheap (where the heck from??) have you thought about how YOU ARE PUTTING IT INTO YOUR ACCORD?? I heard there was one car who did it featured on acurazine or something but it will not be easy and it will cost +$10K

4. You'd use the K24 (or also the K20) tranny since it spins the opposite way

Best advice, dump that k24 idea and boost the H22a and you'll be happy, you would only need to resleeve the H22a when using forged pistons and go beyond 400whp.
