What product do you guys recommend to paint my cars interior?
I just bought a 95 accord wagon with the light brown interior. It must had been through lots of owners cause it has been badly taken care of. I remember years ago reading a thread about how to paint car interior and with what product. I searched many pages under "interior paint", "interior restoration", and "interior color change", with no avail. What do you guys recommend on using for the vinyl panels and cloth seats and carpet??
how about doing it the right way and find another interior to replace it? i replaced my 96 accord wagon tan interior to gray interior. and i got the whole complete interior with seats and all for 125 bucks and it was in near mint shape. dont paint anything because it will look nice for a lil while then when it starts chipping an peeling your friends are gonna laugh at u. do it right the first time
^^ agree..... i think its alot easier anyways to change out the interior then to paint it, theres no taping off, or dealing with fumes, just unscrewing some bolts. like tommyboy said do it right. ( if you cant afford a whole new interior just buy piece by piece untill you have it all then put it all in at once, dont wast money on paint though.) good luck, let us know whats up, if u need help finding the parts hit me up ill help you out.

Nothing wrong with recoloring the interior (vs. replacement). It's a lot of work, but so is sourcing all those parts.
What ever you do, DON'T use paint. That means no Krylon...It will crack and peel quickly. What works best for that is a dye, because it will permeate the surface and won't change the texture at all. It won't crack or peel either. And SEM is definitely a leading brand, so while I haven't used their dye yet, a lot of people have and you'll be good to go with that. That thread above is good stuff...just be sure to prep the surfaces well before you spray the dye!

degrease all panels your going to paint, use a scuff pad on all panels, use a type of plastic adhesion promoter, then paint (in this order). the SEM paint is a flexible paint that wont chip or crack
i just bought some aerosol cans from my local motorfactors and sprayed it gloss black i can get you some pics you want em
i did some random pieces when i was converting my teg interior from tan to black and you cant even tell which pieces are painted. i also did an entitre eg interior dash and everything. came out awesome
The only plastic I found in my EG that was slightly weird was the A pillers that plastic seems to be different then the rear.. infact I know it is, but I had to use some adhesion promoter along with using krylon plastic paint it turned out glossy but the sem stuff wouldn't stick.. It's still not bullet proof though.. kinda have to baby it when you re assemble it all.
that interior looks dope. i would look into dyes for the fabric stuff then wut they said for your plastics. it can be tricky getting your paint to stick to it with out chipping. or just be patient and wait to find a whole interior.
I personally have a 95 accord wagon, I first cleaned separated all the panels and cleaned them well with soap, and then painted them with vinyl paint but some parts of it would absorb the color but not show it. I did this while I was in high school.
I actually redid all the door panels with brand new vinyl all the way around. Looks beautiful compared to the paint. I had everything removed from the vinyl to the foam. I had brand new form places, which made it look beefier along with black vinyl. I also redid the arm rest in the middle.
Some shops will charge a lot. I have a friend in bakersfield that does it in his garage that did a good job, he is an upholester by profession. Everything is great except the glue because some of the areas where there was more stress. Cant complain compared to the amount my friend charged me.
