That looks like Mark bremmers car, which gets from me.

It's.... different. I can't say I'd agree with the layout of where everything is, but to each his own.

KOOP, why did you choose that direction for the mani. I was thinking of working on a setup like yours, but putting the turbo on the other side of the car or backwards from your setup. Kinda like the Sentra guys have done. Any pros or cons I should be aware of?

Oh yeah Joe, I understand the intentions, can't say I'd build anything like that myself.

true, it is in a sense similar, but the one i posted really has no merge collector at all. Will this inturn effect performance? As you know, the H22a leans backwards, not level/forward like the B series does...I can replicate that guy's manifold for very cheap, so i might copy it....

when i stumbled upon this manifold/setup, it blew me away. i couldn't understand how i couldn't have figured out to try this...it seems fairly easy, if you look, he uses an AEM cai for intercooler piping on half of it! i guess all i'm going to need to do it relocate the battery to the trunk, and i'll have a ton of room.

hehe

by the way doesnt long runners like that....loose heat energy, resulting in less energy spinning the turbo?

i would like to know the answer to this, because right now i'm somewhat seriously considering building this manifold because of ease of assembly, and price to build.

Nice, I couldnt help but notice the valve cover ground is in the wrong place.

That's the correct spot because the other locations are insulated by the rubber inserts.

Actually wouldn't you want it on the stud? Where that ground strap is connected to doesn't touch the "motor" at all. The valve cover doesn't contact the head because of the gasket and the rubber part of the valve cover seals. So connecting the ground strap directly to the valve cover does nothing at all...

how do you know Mark Bremmer? are you in UT?

that is definitely Mark Bremmer's engine bay

Hi-Tech makes that manifold.

mark's manifold is badass, but lets get back to the subject...heh!

I was compairing my engine bay to a astock accord last night, the stock accord motor definitly has more room in that area because of the placement of the starter. though, i suppose i'll purchase a turbo befor ei build the manifold, and "test fit" where the turbo should go.

I am not in UT, thank god! I know it's Marks car because i've seen him post links to it, and he's got one kickass setup. I don't know him, but i've always valued his posts.

the manifold on that accord is of very poor design.

i believe i could make up for the design flaws. what size tubing would be sufficent for the runners? and then for the main collector? also, i would get the thing coated asap because of the uglyness of it.

I know this is off thread, but: The valve cover is insulated from the engine by the gasket and valve cover seals. Therefore, it is necessary to ground the valve cover independantly. The engine is grounded by a strap at the transmission.

The turbine relies on both temperature and pressure differentials to work. By using equal length runners and a merge collector, engine breathing off boost is assisted allowing quicker transition into boost. Also, by placing the wastegate after the collector, all gasses are allowed to move in the same direction all of the time. This prevents undesired wave effects inside the manifold. It was our belief that a very small thermal sacrifice for a large flow increase would net better overall performance. We were right about that.

I understand the engine is already grounded by the ground strap on the tranny.. But what is the purpose of grounding just the valve cover if nothing electrical is grounded to it..? Maybe I'm missing something, but grounding the valve cover doesn't seems to serve any purpose. Another ground for the motor sounds like a good idea to me.

Remember that your high tension leads (plug wires) go through the valve cover. Because of this, the valve cover can and will pick up an induced voltage every time a plug is fired. If it is not grounded, it will act like an antenna and transmit electro magnetic waves.
