Default What kind of HP could I expect?

I have a 96 Teg SE I am doing a LS/vtec build on. This is what I am thinking about ruuning as far as my setup: Dont be afraid to let me know whats up I need to know...
-B16a3 head
-B18b1 block (will be honed and stock sleves used)
-Eagle connecting rods
-Supertech Pistons 10:1-11:4 cr
-ctr springs and titanium retainers
-ctr cams
-Skunk2 cam gears
-330cc injectors
-GSR water and oil pump
-skunk2 IM
-68mm throttle body
-gsr dizzy
-T3/T4 turbo at 9-10psi
-custom intercooler setup
-greddy evo2 exhaust
-Stock LS manual tranny
-stage 2 act clutch package
-will run a p30 ecu tuned by a s300

I want to be around 250hp or more...Could i do it with this setup?
THanks

Thanks DAtegls. Without the turbo what kinda power would I be looking at? And what would I need to do to get up to around 300 with this set up? What do you think of this set up and could you suggest any other options (ex. pistons, different turbo, injectors, etc.)

well the average stock Ls/V puts down like 190-200 alone. so with just the cams, bolt-ons, ect., id prolly have to guess somewhere around 220. to get it up around 300 or so youd prolly be talking about portin & polishin the head, bigger fuel pump, pot matching intake mani/gasket/head, a nice HG, high octane fuel, and ARP studs and stuff. id assume that would put you right around 300.

btw what compresion pistons did you say? 11:4? cuz thats a lil high for 9-10lbs of boost.

Well I have been told that I dont want to go over 11-12 but Im trying to find something around 10:1-10:5cr.....I plan on using the arp studs and did i tell you that the head i have is a b16a3-4 head with dual intake and dual exhaust valves? Thats a type r head so will that help? and I plan on running the 10psi boost so will that change anything...?

310cc injectors are only good to about 200whp give or take. Pick up a set of 450cc or bigger.
If it were me, I wouldnt get high compression pistons for a turbo build.
Im not sure if there is a reason you are getting high compression but, most people i know usually run 8.5:1 or 9:1 compression and have no trouble making over 400whp on stock sleeves.

as for the head, all bseries heads are 16 valve so that wont be diff. the head alone will raise cr but not by much. it should out you at around 10:1 with stock Ls pistons. so you should take a look into that.
like boostedone said, id keep the stock Ls pistons. its already like 9:1 with a Ls head. so your set with those. and as far as injectors go, pick you up a set of some DSM blue tops. theyre cheap and i believe theyre a 440cc and they should work fine for 10lbs.
and if you do plan on boosting an Ls/V at around 10:1 id look into like Hondata or something like that for the tune and find someone good to do it. its not the most reliable setup for sure.

you're not going to make 400whp on the stock LS pistons. At least not for long.

With the original setup listed you could easily make 400whp if you turned up the boost and swith to 750cc injectors. Also with a good tune 10:1 should still be very reliable.

sweet I really do appreciate all the responses!!! that makes me want to freakin go sell some crack or somethin just to get the money for all the parts!LOL j/k No I will take the advise and go with some lower cr supertech pistons for sure. I would still like to know what turbo/setup you guys suggest tho. I mentioned t3/t4 turbo, but I dont know a ton about turbos because i never had one in my car. I know for sure that i am going to do a custom intercooling and piping for less air flow restriction. So what turbo would yall suggest?

Show me a stock Lsv that makes 190-200. You need to do some extensive research so that you can have some idea of true whp and hearsay really is.

a well built stock Ls/V with stock b16 pistons will very easily get 190-200.

Um, no. Not even close.

A stock Type-R rarely breaks past 155whp on a dyno, and they at least come with a ported head.

A "stock" LS-V will make around 150-165 after tuning. A B20-V will make around 180+

The compression is too high for boost, you'll hate that LS tranny, those injectors will be waaay too small for boost, and max out around 220whp, and that would be at a very high duty cycle. If the car is a faily driver, ditch the titainium retainers, use OEM CTR/ITR or even Crower chromoly units, the clutch might not like that power and abuse, and the Evo2 exhaust is a little small for boost.

Answer this question; How much money are you willing to spend, and how much power do you want to make?

Thanks for the info man....I have already got the head so besides the turbo setup I am looking to spend around 1500 dollars on the motor (IM, pistons, etc..) Thats if I dont have to have the block bored out..I want to spend around 1250-1300 on turbo set up alone. I would like to get close to 300hp if possible. you have a possible setup suggestion? And yeah I decided to go with 600-750cc injectors, walbro pump and aem fuel rail. Also I thought ctr cams would be good but I have also heard gsr cams are better? what would you suggest for my setup?

dont bore your block if you dont have to. it will just make your sleeves thinner. if you do I would only take it to 81.5mm

You're going to need bigger injectors. The general rule is that you need 6cc per whp. That means that your 330s are only good for 220whp or so...go with at least 550s. If you want good advice on your turbo setup, check the Forced Induction forum.

You dont even need to build the engine to make 300whp. Thats totally commonplace these days. Hell, made 315whp/216wtq on my bone stock GSR.

Stock GSR from valvecover to oil pan
GT3255b @ 10.5psi
RC550 injectors on 91 octane
Tial 38mm WG and 50mm bov
Exedy Stage 2 Cerametallic clutch
Stealthmode oil lines
3" SS Exhaust
2.5" IC piping
JRC 6" IC

The rest is all details...its not that hard to hit 300whp even on a stock engine on pump gas. Read through the FI forum and you'll find more info than you'll ever need...
